A Saturday. For once I was not working on my teaching and research. Instead, I worked on my husband’s CV for a job application.
I also made the time to fix the formatting of pictures and pages on this site.
The best part of the day was getting to spend the evening with my husband’s brother, his brother’s not so new girlfriend, our two nephews, and my mother-in-law. While I don’t always socialize because of work, this event was a nice break from the stressful academic life.
Regardless of our situations at work, we have to remember that this life was made for living, loving, trusting, and helping. We are, by nature, social animals. Although academic life is worse because of budget cuts, we should make the time for those closest to us and those who have supported us.
